The project
TLI TPC, a company focused on sales and distribution, aimed to extend its web application into a mobile app to provide more convenience for users and reduce the lead time in product presentations and sampling. The primary goal was to create a cross-platform mobile app using React Native, allowing users to access and distribute product catalogues with ease and introduce new app-specific features.
Following the mobile app's development, a Phase 2 enhancement was also listed and entered the production stage.
The Challenge
The existing web application provided a digital solution for TLI TPC's product catalogue, but the company required a mobile app to increase convenience and improve user engagement. The key challenges included:
- Maintaining consistency with the web version while adapting the UI for mobile usability.
- Seamlessly integrating existing web application data with new features.
- Creating APIs for smooth data transfer between the current server and the app.
- Setting up accounts on iOS and Android platforms and handling technical issues during the submission process.
The Solution
To address these challenges, Webmantra executed the following steps:
1. Knowledge Transfer and Requirement Gathering:
- Held a knowledge transfer session to understand the existing database and web application functionalities.
- Identified the purpose and requirements for the mobile app, focusing on sales and distribution.
2. UI/UX Design:
- Designed the mobile app's UI to match the web version's colour theme while optimizing it for mobile use.
- The app's features and functionalities were aligned with user needs, and the design was approved accordingly.
3. API Development and Integration:
- Developed APIs to fetch data from the existing web application.
- Created a separate database to store data generated by the mobile app, allowing for seamless data transfer.
- Integrated the app's UI with the APIs, ensuring that data flowed smoothly from the server.
4. App Store Account Setup and Launch:
- Created new accounts on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.
- Addressed issues raised by the Apple review team and successfully launched the app.
- Integrated Microsoft account authentication using Azure, followed by minor functionality tweaks to finalize the app.
Results and Impact
The mobile app's launch allowed TLI TPC to expand its digital product presentation capabilities, improving user engagement and reducing the time needed for sales activities. Users could now easily create, edit, and distribute catalogues on the go, enhancing the sales team's productivity. Additionally, the successful integration of Microsoft account authentication simplified the login process for users, offering a smoother experience.
Future Plans
With Phase 1 of the app completed, TLI TPC has already started planning for Phase 2, which is currently in production. This phase will bring additional features and enhancements based on user feedback and evolving business needs.

- Create, edit, and manage product catalogs.
- Add single or multiple products to a catalog.
- Catalog Distribution:
- Distribute catalogs via email, WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams, etc., in PDF format.
- Share product information in JPEG format via WhatsApp.
